First Components...
Well, these might not look like much, but they are to eventually be the front and rear buffer beams.
Seen here sat on my workbench, andut from hot rolled bar, by a local supplier, they are the first components of a 23 year construction process.
The 9th of August 2016 is now day one of the build.

Little Giant was the last of the single engines built by George England & Co for the FR and the second of the "large Englands" after Welsh Pony. It became No. 6 in the FR fleet. It was dismantled for a boiler inspection in November 1924. In March 1929 the boiler had its tubes removed and sold for scrap. The Cab was scrapped in 1953
